EIG Ohh EIG Ohh RM50ku.

Just recently, KL was announced to be included in the Thaipusam holiday which falls on the 23rd of January 2008, tomorrow! Woots!

Ho-ho-holiday! LOL. However I've got tonnes of work to do.
Mostly work that I had to postpone due to the Engineering Interactive Gathering I had to attend last weekend. Yeahh, about that, it was fun! Yet, really tiring. The Engineering Interactive Gathering (EIG) is basically an annual gathering organised under the collaboration of UM & IEM for working engineers & engineering students from various universities to share their experiences & exchange ideas on stuff dealing with engineering. Not jus engineering, basically anything, it's just a way of letting engineers create bonds among one another.

This year it was held at PD World Marina Resort in Port Dickson. Universities that participated include USM, UMP, Uniten, UTM, UTHM, University of Nottingham, etc. It was actually the first time I ever participated in EIG. I was initially invited by my classmate, who's the Director of the project to become one of the commitee members, and I was assigned to be Head of the Technical department (in record). But the work I did throughout the whole project had nothing to do with technical stuff. LOL. Everything was basically already planned out when I was invited to join them. So all I had to do was follow orders and help with whatever they needed help in. But I was okay with it. I actually like helping out with stuff like that.
Most of the commitee members had already participated in last year's EIG, so I assumed they knew what they were doing, especially when it came to the preparation of the food and the booking of the speakers for the talks.

So Saturday morning, 7.30am, my mom sent me to 12th College where the bus was to depart. We packed about 100 plus packs of fried rice and fried beehun for the participants' lunch later on in pd. From UM, we had about 15 commitee members including myself and about 5 participants (3 first year foreign students from Yemen). The foreign students were actually my tele juniors, and I had met them a week before the programme. Really nice & decent guys. They were pretty excited about it as they were going to be able to mingle around with students from other universities. I was really excited myself. I like meeting new people & expanding my social network.
I like taking opportunities like this to improve the first impression people usually get from me. Coz people who meet me for the first time usually think I'm shy and quiet and all.

Anyway, my favourite part of the programme was during the ice-breaking session. I was actually one of the facillitators. It was kinda funny for me because all my team members were 3rd year students and I was the only 2nd year. But it was a great experience. It was also my first time as a faci. I was pretty nervous at first, thinking too much about the age difference, but it got a lot easier as I gradually made friends with them. I think my team was the most havoc (from my observation la), as I got all the loud participants. LOL. I had to get them to come up with a team name and team cheer. LOLOLOLOL!! Our cheer was a simple 2-line cheer, yet hillarious! We were called 'BluePrints' as the participants in my team all had blue name tags. We were laughed at but also applauded and cheered when we performed our cheer coz we made a few mistakes which made the whole performance a lil comic-like.
I guess that was like a cherry on the top for us...

OMG, I'm so lazy to type. When I start yapping about stuff, I tend to ellaborate a lot, like A LOT. This is just like, a quarter of what I wanted to share on here. Now, it's already late and I have work to do. I guess I'll continue with this when I have the time and will.LOL. Or maybe not.LOLOL. We'll see. Cia0!

P/s : If you noticed a few skips in my EIG story, it's kinda unavoidable, I just lost RM50 due to my suffercation of short-term memory loss in verifying my subjects. Sigh. Something seems to be wrong, just wrooonng with me these days. My brain has been a lil slow due to the mourn of the loss. Now even my english is not right. LOL. Till then. Muahx.
