Premiere screening for Sherlock Holmes at TGV One Utama last night, accompanied by Tiqah. Thoughts? Gratifying & enthralling :) It's a combination of vintage CSI and Psych. Tiqah mentioned that Sherlock Holmes' character reminds her of House. He's a genius with a sharp sense of awareness, yet very sarcastic in a comical sense. Robert Downey Jr. couldn't be more suitable for the role. Very edgy. I remember being so into him in Only You & Chances Are. Aww.

I'm not sure if it was just last night's crowd, but people in the cinema were laughing at practically every comment or statement Holmes made. Maybe it WAS just last night's crowd. Some of the parts WERE funny, I did laugh a little here & there, where it was seriously laughable. But man, these people, they were guffawing their hearts out. Felt like the guy behind me was screaming out his laughs. And omg, speaking of people in the cinema, if you have something to say about every single scene in the movie, please shut the fudge up & keep it to yourself. OR at least get your parents to teach you how to whisper. If you have a dictionary, look it up. WHISPER. Practice it. And I promise, you'll be shocked at the amount of people who'll start loving you :) Oh wait, BLOG about it ;)
ANYWAY, what captivated me most about the movie was Holmes' ability to plan out his moves in such a short span of time. Not only does he plan them out, he lays out his whole analysis of the outcome of each of his actions & how he'll react towards it, plus the end results. All this analyzing is done mentally, kinda like Robert Langdon in Da Vinci Code, but better! You'll know what I mean when you see it for yourself. He's always aware of the most unnoticeable things vital in his investigations, which leaves audiences in awe.

Jude Law as Holmes' partner, Dr. John Watson & Rachel McAdams as his love interest Irene Adler, were fun to watch. Haven't seen Jude on the big screen for quite a while, since he's been pretty active in Broadway. Still hot as always ;) Loved how he OWNED the outfits in the movie. Rachel McAdams on the other hand, is hard to not like, she seems to be doing really well nowadays, with The Time Traveller's Wife & now Sherlock Holmes. The three make a great team.
Fun facts :
Colin Farrell was in talks to play Watson before Jude Law was cast. Euw? LOL.
The set for Sherlock Holmes' home in this film was previously used as Sirius Black's home in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Awesome :)
I say this movie is without a question, watch-worthy :)
Till then ♥
