Asian Reality

I was watching the final episode for HP Space Asia on Channel V last night. It came down to Raffy from the Philippines, Lora from China, & David from Singapore. In the final challenge, the three were required to come up with an idea & direct a music video for a particular band randomly assigned to them. So, like every other project-based reality show I've seen so far, The Apprentice, Stylista, etc. eliminated contestants were brought back to assist the final three.

In this show, instead of the finalist picking their team mates, the eliminated ones were given the chance to choose who they wanted to work for. Surprisingly how Asians work, a few purposely picked the finalist they weren't so keen about. They were basically sabotaging each other throughout the episode, it was pretty irksome to watch. And out of the 16 contestants, only one of them is Malaysian, whom apparently didn't make it far enough in the show. Coz I've only seen the first episode, missed about two, and by the time I continued watching, the Malaysian dude name Han wasn't there anymore.

I was curious to see Han's work & how much of a contribution he can be in a team, so I can go "Malaysia Boleh!" & all. Unfortunately, all I heard coming from his mouth throughout the episode was money, money & MONEY. The first part when he chose to work with David, his reason was, "So he can give me some money!". I honestly thought he was joking about it, but as the episode went on, he actually attempted requesting David for an incentive. And when David refused, he got all disappointed about it & went telling the camera, "Why would I want to help someone win +++ thousand dollars for nothing?". Pfft, so much for Malaysia Boleh.

Man, I've seen shows like The Apprentice, where the win is like millions, & the eliminated contestants assisting the finalists don't even question about being paid. They work their butts off & do it simply for the love of doing it. Anyway, I'm rooting for Raffy :) He got to direct Bunkface's music video 'Prom Queen' & it turned out really good.

Biggest Loser Asia. Kevin is so cute!!

Asian versions of reality shows are quite a hit these days. Aside from HP Space, I'm currently following Biggest Loser Asia & Super Model Me. Excited to see the outcome for Biggest Loser. I find it funny that within the first EVER season of Asia's Biggest Loser we've managed to make history among all other Biggest Loser shows of other countries. And that is, the first to ever QUIT on the FIRST episode after being picked out of thousands of applicants who'd die for the spot. Also, the first to vote for HIMSELF during elimination. LOL. I wonder what that says about Asians?

Enough said.
Till then
