Disastrous

As I mentioned in my To The High Lands video I got a job interview, and yeah it took place last Friday. First of all, like every other fresh graduate I sent out dozens of resumes for job applications. You know how it is when you've put out so much and you get nothing, nada! Of course! You tend to make choices slightly beyond the line of your scope of interest & strength with the thought, "What if I just tried this category of specialization, might that just change my luck a little?". Nope! Worst decision EVER.

UNLESS! You are that brand of extremely adjustable human beings. Or in other words, you are just way too open to try new things that you wouldn't mind classifying the things you REALLY like in the 'In My Free Time' section and doing that other 'new thing' for the most part of your life. I know I'm all about exploring life & new experiences, but NO WAY am I going to spend the rest of my life doing something I don't necessarily like, but "it's just for the experience".That would be a BULL of a living!

My point is, that interview I attended made me realize just THAT. I was happy I finally got a response, but of ALL the jobs I applied for that one call I got was for a position I've never had the slightest interest in during my time in uni. I was so busy preparing myself for the typical interview questions that I didn't focus much on the technical part. And HELL, that was ALL the interview was about. I basically wasted my time practicing those other questions, haha. I arrived there early, it was a small company, small office. Apparently I was the only one to be interviewed that day. I got there, and was brought into a small meeting room, and the receptionist gave me a test paper and she said "You have 30mins to answer it".

Scream out loud.

It was a 2 page test filled with technical questions. I read through the questions and I was like, "Crap". Seriously felt like running off to save myself from embarrassment. LOL! Must've been pretty simple questions for those who're really into that particular specialization. Definitely not fer me. Nah-uh! I ended up answering only half of the first page, and even that was full of shizz. Hahaha. After the interviewer read that paper, I was sure the rest of the interview went on just to fit the bill of it being an 'Interview'. Disaster much?

A lesson DEFINITELY LEARNT! I got back home that day, and withdrew all applications related to that specialization haha. I genuinely feel that I'd be miserable if I ever DID get that position or anything close to it. I know people say that you can't be too materialistic when you're a fresh graduate looking for a job, but seriously! Not to the point where it ruins your reasons for living!! I hope that dreadful experience of mine helped anyone reading in even the slightest way ;)

Till then
