Rock The Posts Day 3 : Food, Music to the Soul?

I'm feeling full as heck, as I have over indulged myself with my mom's cooking. I shall not mention the number of plates I had as that is totally private & confidential, not. But I will say, this over indulgence happens quite often when Italian is the genre playin' in the kitchen. What can I say, it's my mom's best subject. She scores a 4flat EVERY TIME ;)

On the menu today, Spaghetti. Not Spare-grr-tee but, but Spuh-get-ee :)
Trust me, I've heard too many ways the pronunciation can go wrong.

We order Domino's a lot. So the extra chili flakes packets are usually kept some place I have no idea where. And today, my mom took out the stash to try it with the spaghetti, I tried, it was deeeelicious :) Mom was extra extra pumped about it, she laid out the packets on the table like some professional hotel table set up or something, for us to take. LOL. Mama..mama. Hahahaha.
You should try it though, very spicy, but gooood :)

I finally got back my guitar today. Yay-yeaa! I've missed 2 days of practice already. We were given 3 song exercises to practice on, 1 hour everyday to get used to changing chords, which I find pretty tough at this point, coz my fingers are as stiff as wood! But the teacher said, it's normal, and it'll take time, so insyaAllah I'll be good at it after lots & lots of practices.

Got the tuners rebuilt, strings re stringed & they polished the whole thing. It's all good :) I guess it's a normal thing for the tip of my fingers to be slightly numb? Feels funny. I've so got to get used to this rock star life. HAHAAA. Laughing at my own jokes, how nice.

Tiqah just got back today. Was initially staying for the weekend. But it turns out, even UTP's closing down the whole of next due to the H1N1 virus. It was pretty dumb actually, coz they already had like, 40 students quarantined, and they were still discussing whether they should close down for the week, & the main thing they couldn't make they're mind up was if the number of students detected is enough for a close down. I mean, isn't 5 students bad enough for it to spread? They've got 40, and still questioning it. Maaaan. People these days are weird.

Done for now, Till then

Rock The Posts Day 2 : Setem & Excessive PDA

I know I'm pretty late for today's post, but what the heck, it's still Thursday. The rule (which I made, muahaha) didn't mention any time limit. I'm posting anyway, fair enough right?

So Tasya picked me up from class today :) She had to take a visitor's pass due to the whole 'strict security upgrade' on campus, which looked almost similar to an MC letter, haha. She wanted to watch Afdlin Shauki's latest movie 'Setem' and invited me to tag along together with Shah & Fareeza. Setem was not bad at all. I never get bored of Afdlin's comedies. They were REAL laughable ones, unlike other malaysian movies I've seen who try too hard to be comical, and epically FAIL! at it. Namely, Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak. Seriously, if that's what you call funny, *tries hard not to be mean* sigh. Hate, no. Constructive critism, YES. (Some people seem to take things the wrong way, yes?)

Setem's about this whole media buzz about an old piece of stamp owned by this British dude who inherited it from his ancestors, that's been kept for almost a century and is now worth US$4million. Basically, the movie portrays the lives of 5 different groups of people who has big plans in attempting to steal the stamp, which made it interesting. They had a variety of groups of different standards & backgrounds, including con men, ex-convicts, disabled, Ah longs and immigrant fugitives. I don't wanna give a way too much, but all I can say is it's worth the watch, for me at least. If you're into Action Comedy, then you'll like it :)

Anyway, when we were in the cinema, there was a whole row of Brits sitting in front of us, which was pretty weird. I don't think they understood a thing, maybe from the gestures of the characters, yes but still, there was no English subtitle. Why is it, that we don't have English subtitles for Malay movies? How're tourists suppose appreciate Malaysian movies, if they don't even understand it. Even if they don't watch it, subtitles could still be a good way of improving Malaysians' English. Just a thought. SO, it turns out, that the Brits were family & friends of the British dude in the movie. He was there watching it too. Hahah. So cute.

Ohh, and I got stuck sitting next to a couple. One of my big NO-NOs when watching a movie. There's a reason for why I always ALWAYS get seats right at the end & NOT the middle, and that's because of people with excessive PDA (public display of affection) or, just plain annoyance. Everytime I get stuck with em, it's either the guy's lips or hands just can't leave the girl's skin, or the girl can't shut the eff up when watching "scary" scenes (one of em was Harry Potter, like wtf? scary?). This ain't no discrimination to couples, LOL. Coz believe me, I know a LOT of coolio couples. My hands type out information received straight from the brain of which my eyes transmits graphics to. BOOM! They're called observations. Apparently observations resulting in disgust. Erghh. (-_-").

Do I have more to say? Maybe. But I have a report to complete. Commitment (Rock The Posts) to be continued, yes?

Rock The Posts Day 1 : Mind Vacations & Guitars

I noticed that I've been pretty lost lately. It's like my mind blindly bought a plane ticket to some random universe and went off vacationing without checking in or out at my brain's reception counter.

Today, my actions have verified the symptoms to this unidentified disorder. My mind is clearly, temporarily (I hope!) messed up.

Pretty messed up that,
due to my frequent short term memory loss, I went back & forth in the house like 20 times to get a few things from one room to another in my bath robe.
Okaaay, too much information there.

Pretty messed up that,
I watched myself swinging my head & headbanging it from left to right for about 5minutes straight infront of the mirror, again, in my bath robe.

Like wth right?

I guess it's just the way MY mind chose to react to the typical nerve-wrecking final year beginning. My industrial training ended pretty late. It was already two weeks into the beginning of the semester & we (industrial training students) only started classes on the 3rd week. So, no holiday before that & apparently no midsem break either. SUPER yayness (-_-)

Our first week back in campus, and we were already swarmed with this tsunami of information about the projects & stuff that we'll be facing. I guess that's when the disorder switch somehow got bluetoothly infraredly switch on in muh braaains. My mind got freaked out & left me hanging. Thanks a lot.

Anywho! Things are going pretty good now. I just got my thesis title. I'll be designing a *drumroll* Global Positioning System Simulator & Tracker, together with my rockin' partner Sarah. Woot woot! *applause* Hahaa. Seems pretty darn interesting, slightly scarry, but I guess I'll be able to make it work :) That's the point anyway, right?

Oh! Oh! And this semester, I'm taking up Elementary Guitar as a cocurricular activity. FUN! The dude teaching us is a musician for the university's symphony orchestra. Awesome much? He'll be teaching us from scratch. So, that's a definite plus! I sent my aunt's old acoustic guitar to be repaired & restringed so I could use it for the class. They said that at the end of the semester we're gonna have to perform. Hahaha. I'm so gonna be a rockstar by then. NOT! :P

So, I know I haven't posted for quite awhile. Therefore, I've come up with a punishment for myself. I'm going to blog everyday for a month starting with this one :) How's that? The rule is that each post can't be less than a 100 words. That'd be fair right? Feel free to join me. Holler in the comments or my shoutbox. Lets do it together if you want :) I'm calling it Rock The Posts. Affective today, ending 29th August 2009.
Wish me luck!

Rockin' The Tweets

I finally created myself a Twitter account. I'm officially a Tweeter now! Tweet tweet :) Lets ride the bandwagon & rock the roads baby! Hahaha, I guess with the whole 'time of doldrums' in the office, in fact, the whole Industrial trainning I've been experiencing, I just had to find something new to keep myself entertained, occupied, PRODUCTIVE.

Me Sherene
sherene!
qila!
i'm following u on twitter..haha
lol now i have like 3 ppl following me hahahaha
hahaha
just got myself twitter since i was bored
me too hahaa..

Feel free to follow :)
If you can handle the various levels of crappiness of AQillogramz :P

The main reason I created the account was to keep up with people I like. So far, I'm already following like, 50plus people, including all the Kardashians & The Hills cast. LMAO. But at times, I'd update when I feel like it. Faster way of expressing or informing or sharing stuff, rather than thinking of delicious sentences for my bloggy over here :) Oohh I'm hungry. Not.

Some may see Twitter as an activity of no necessity to it. Alex Day once said, "I don't see the necessity of logging on everyday to see what people are doing or thinking every 5 minutes" (not his exact words, but something like that). He wasn't talking about Twitter specifically, just social networks in general. Ohh, and he mentioned something like, "Why would I want to see real time updates from people whom I can just chat with, on skype or msn everyday". Thus, he deleted all his social network accounts. I don't wanna pollute his well-elaborated opinion with my short-term memory loss lines. So, he's basically saying that, there's more to life than social networks & the internet. The points he made were very convincing. I'd post the video here, but I couldn't find it. Sigh.

He's absolutely right. But from how I see it, it depends on how a person manages the usage or should I say addiction? to these social networks. I mean, there's no wrong in wanting to keep up with other people's updates. I'm not a fan of facebook updates (real-time conversations between people I know but rarely talk to, relationship updates = eye soar-ing!) , but I do like playing around with some of the apps there. It's when you're logged on almost 80% of the day, almost everyday, THEN you might wanna re-evaluate the productivity you're getting out of your life.

As for me, I like reading people's thoughts be it crappy or serious. Why? Simply for the fun of it. And on the brightside, it gives me ideas, new words, different perspectives, etc. You've gotta keep an open mind in order to move forward in life, man (I like to joke around with my mum, with that line, woot woot. It's true though *serious*).

Anyway, let me know if you have an account too :)
Till then ♥

Froppa Bonding

Hung out with the babes on Sunday.
Watched Last House On The Left.
Teppanyaki-ed. Chocolate Frappe-d.
And basically juz played around with our bond strings (what? lol).

The movie was pretty good.
Not box office good, but watch-worthy.
A very bloody, nerve-lockin' murder movie.
You can tell when a movie is cheap, riduculous & a waste of time.
Somehow, Last House On The Left wasn't disappointing :)

They were having the Shout Awards roadshow there in One Utama.
Saw Honey Madu & Nadia from Flyfm.
I was trying to figure out who the artistes were, no idea.
We didn't watch it anyway, just passed by a few times on our way to a few places.
They were giving out free tickets? How special (-_-).

Had a My Fair Lady Frappe & juz chilled.
Tasya likes calling it our 'Froppa Night'. It's Frappe, dear :P
Thanks to SOMEONE's geographical excellence, I had to rush out of the car to avoid from being honked at, at the side of the road at the LRT station, & walk a whole kilometre to reach there. LOL. Qiller drama. It wasn't even close to 500metres. Gotta love exaggeration ;)
Had fun though, love em girls :)

Tried to make this as short as possible.
SUcks, coz I'm not good at making simple solid ones.

Whatever eet ees, I got this quote from reading John Green's, Looking for Alaska :
"when you stop wishing things wouldn't fall apart, you'd stop suffering when they did"

It SORT of got me through my shitty first day back in the pj headquarters today.

Chocs, Fruits & Bots

Yesterday, I went out to watch Transformers with the blood sisters. It's been 2 weeks I think, since it premiered, and the ticket was still 12ringgit. Blehh. How long does it usually take to go down? A month? I honestly don't know. I'll have to keep that in mind once I do find out. The world needs to know the tips & tricks of staying on a budget these days. I don't see, catching a movie on the day it premiers to be a necessity or coolifying achievement. Well, if you can afford it, why not. There's no wrong to it, that's just one of the things I choose to modify to be aligned with how the economy's affecting me financially. Am I making any sense here? No? Yes? (-_-).

The movie was not bad. Not THAT great either, though. I mean, since the first day it premiered, I've been seeing update after update on facebook, with people parading their imaginary "I've Watched Transformers, In YOUR FACE!" certificate, and how awesome, how coooool the movie is, and that you'd die if you don't see it (okay, okay, I may have gone a lil overboard there).

I will keep you to my heart. Yesterday, Today, Forever. Until my last breath. LOL, we bought the chocolate, for the chocolate. The words ain't mean a thing.

Spoiler ALERT!
Well, the robots never cease to awe me, but the story line & script wasn't all that great. However, the few parts that I liked, involved this character called Jetfire, a decepticon from the olden days, the first generation of transformers, who decided to change sides and fought for the Autobots. The movie was nearing to the end, you know, the typical part where the good guy gets pretty weak, and it seems like there's no hope for them to survive, bla bla bla. In this case, it was Optimus Prime, who was just brought back from the dead (yes, they can die), Jetfire wanting to serve the Autobots like he did in the old days, sacrificed his 'part' (heart) & gave it to Optimus, which made Optimus evolve into a stronger robot with extra powers. The evolution was so astonishing, I realised my face was spazzing out in amusement as I watched. LOL.

One character I seriously didn't like was Sam Witwicky's mom. OMG. So annoying, I could shoot her. I guess they needed her for comedy? Seriously, NOT FUNNY. Plus, for a mom, the way she spoke, her language just wasn't right. Plus, the so-called love connection between Sam & Micaela has got to be the MOTHER of all cliches. I'm a pro-cliche-er, but sometimes cliche has its limits.
Aaahh, that's all I've got. Heee, it's still worth the watch though. Juz not as blockbuster-ish as everybody says it is.

Blast from the past. Haha, I found this photo while I was cleaning up the guest room before it was renovated. Tiqah was still a lil baby then, so I'm assuming this was taken in our house in Brisbane in maybe, 1990? Think so. Good ol days =) The days where the bowl-haircut used to be the in-thing for 3 year olds, & pink tricycles were for rockin' kiddos *wink wink*.

Anyway, we got home that night to an orchard. Dad brought back rambutans, mangosteens, dukuns & duriaaaans! Woot woot! Hahaha, yeahh I bet everyone else's having fruit buffets all around Malaysia. There's nothing like the fruit season here in the lands of Malaya ;)

I'm thinking, if I left out any of the stuff I wanted to talk about?
I'll get back to it, if I did :)
Till then ♥

You Are a Tuber

I just thought of posting this vlog I made a few months ago, which I forgot to post here. Yeah, people who follow me on youtube have seen it, but I totally abandoned the regulars here. Hehhs.

It's actually a vlog where I talk about my mini meet up with a few Malaysian Youtubers. It was quite a short one, but fun :)

Sorry it looks kinda weird, I was attempting to make it fit the screen, but I ended up making my face look horizontally challenged, INSPITE of the fact that my face is horizontally challenged enough (-_-). Awesome much?

Speaking of Youtubers, recently about a week ago (I think), I bumped into Helmi (Postrophy), the co-founder of the Malaysian Youtubers Community. I gotta say, it was pretty comical. I was actually heading to the movie ticket counter with my sisters, Afi, Tiqah & Farah. And from a mile away, I had already noticed him coming from the opposite direction. Like Zetty, I'm not much of a "Heeey, how've u been?!" person. In my case, this was the first time I'd seen him off screen. LOL. So, I juz walked passed him, happily unnoticed. Hahaha. One thing I wasn't aware of, was that my siblings are all in my videos too. Therefore, recognizable. Aihh.

So, once we got to the ticket counter, I was getting the money from Afi. And when I turned back to face Afi, from the side of her face I could see him just standing back there staring at me like some tiger on a hunt, waiting for the perfect time to attack its prey. Busted. But I still stuck to the pace I was at from the beginning.Took the money from Afi, and headed to the queue. Little did I know, he'd already caught up with me, and was already standing next to me, literally bending to get a closer look. I guess he was trying to assure himself that it was really me. HAHA.

All I could do was smile at him. "You, Aqila kan?". I smiled again. Ahhh that broke the ice, and we had a short chat on the spot. Turns out, he had recognized me from far too, but he wasn't sure till he saw my sisters. LOL. It was nice though =) Ohh! And, and! I watched Hannah Montana The Movie that day. It was greeaat! I love Miley Cyrus, no matter what people say!! Hahahah.

Anyway, if I ever forget to post my new vids on here, you can always check for updates in the sidebar. Aiight? Woot woot =)

Sorry I left my previous post kinda hangin', you know how it is when it's been a long time, words can be quite shy to play around with you sometimes. It's like meeting an old friend after months or years. Conversations are a little awkward at the beginning, no matter how much you know what you wanna talk about.

Cliche alert! The news about MJ was melancholic (seriously). Not that I was ever a HUGE fan of his or anything. It's all just.....weird. Somehow, the whole thing educated people more on his music. Huhu. So typical! But whateverrr. I love Man In The Mirror. What about you?

Till then bebehhs ♥

Against The Tides

It took me quite a while to update, so much has happened within the past month (?)
I don't even know where to start.

Okay let's see, first off, my prayers for having actual work to do at the office was finally heard & prosperously granted ;) For the past 3 weeks that I've been in Serdang, I have designed cable installations for a housing area, did it both manually on paper, and on the computer. ACTUAL INPUT for God's sake! I was contented, no doubt ;)

I've been brought out to sites, almost everyday. Learnt a few softwares, and Serdang gets extra points for the people, who actually know how to use their face muscles. Yup, they smiiiiilleee. So, I was happy with everything, but then realized that happiness always, alwaaaays comes with consequences. That fact hit me right in the head when I reported in for my second week there, when my supervisor put me under this staff, who turned out to be the most disgusting perv eveeeerrrr. Okay, okay, I know when you hear 'perv', physicality comes to mind, but there was nothing physical, THANK GOD. But that doesn't mean it doesn't disturb me mentally. It's just sickenning.

So sickening that I get reeeally close to crying everytime he's approached me.
So sickening that I purposely go to the washroom quite frequently, and actually staay there for as long as I could, just so that time would pass by FAST & I could stay away from him.
So sickening that when there's no work to do on a particular day, I'd get a cab to the commuter station and head straight back home, just so I don't have to stay in the office where he's nearby.
So sickenning that my personal notebook is filled with pages of hatred.

SO SICKENING, that I DREAD going to work everyday :'(

You have no idea how happy I am, that this is my last week here. But still, even the few days left are beyond dreadful. Dreadful, but the brightside of it is much appreciated. Man, I can't wait for this week to end.

Some say, Industrial Training is a process of self-discovery? Almost 3 weeks here, and I've discovered how much of a weakling I can be at times.

You know the weather's been pretty crazy these days right, damn, the sun can be pretty agressive sometimes. That makes going out to sites pretty tense. You see, going to sites involve walking outdoors under the flaming sun, & then straight to the exchange buildings where all the ports are, with rooms FILLED with all these high-tech electrical stuff, which results to the existence of a pretty high electromagnetic field in the area.

Now there was this one place we had to go to, it had like, a gazillion security doors that we had to go thru just to get to the room of ports. SO once you're in there, the only acceptable reason to go out is when your work is done, & it'd be a pretty long journey out. It was a friggin hot day, and we'd already got in there. I put my bag on the table and started observing the installation of a minimux. They were about 20minutes in, and I started feeling really dizzy, eyes were getting foggy & I just felt like falling. LOL, another Bukit Gasing moment. I eventually found a chair and set there till it wore off.

There was another day, where we were out almost the whole day, and right after, I got an MC for the next day. Hehhs. So much for the 'tough exterior' (-_-)

Gahh, that's why experiences has its ups.
Therefore next time, I'll be ready. I hope ;)

Hmmn...Till then? ♥
