I have no idea why this movie never came out in Malaysia. Pretty curious about the procedures they go through to preview all the movie selections and deciding which ones get the pass & reject. Stayed up really late last night, thinking I was going to watch 500 Days of Summer at first, but ended up watching My Sister's Keeper instead.
Recently family-based movies have been prone to draw the audience in. At least I'd like to think so. Or maybe it's just me, because the typical male-female "love", "relationship" based movies are just too common nowadays. Not that they're bad movies, I still enjoy them just as much. It's just that people's love-conscience as I'd like to call it, needs a dose of new air.
This old, unrevived air is why people unfortunately have this mindset that their lives would suck if there's no guy or girl to be attached to, to share it with. LOL. Very sad. Why not, enjoy an on screen bond/romance, watch a bunch of other genres too, and just feel good about where you stand realizing there's waaaay more to life than just that :) As galactically cliche as it it :)

At the age of 11, Anna sues her parents for medical emancipation, as they found out that Kate needs a kidney transplant. And so the story basically goes back and forth showing the present, and how things happened in the past. I absolutely love this movie. I like how the movie portrays the thoughts on the family's life & situation from the point of view of each family member. How Anna battles the thought of saving her sister & wanting a normal life. How Kate feels bad that the parents' attention has been so focused to her, leaving out her other sibling who's dyslexic.
