The Collapse.

I'm assuming you've all heard about the incident in Section 14, Petaling Jaya? The Jaya Supermarket building that was supposedly in the process of demolition collasped around 5pm last Thursday, 28th May 2009.

I wasn't aware of the news till my dad got back that night from sending my brother for his tuition at that area. But even he, had no idea what the whole commotion was about. He just said that they closed the road & there were a lot of policemen & firemen around, and like, 10 ambulances standing by.

That definitely amplified our curiousity, that we came up with so many assumptions like, arm robbery or maybe a riot, etc. Personally, the only thing I could come up with from hearing about the 10 ambulances, was a MASSACRE. "Shiiiihhttss", I immediately thought.
Coz at the time, we had no idea buildings were involved.

That same night, we watched the news reporting the collapse followed by the death of 2 Indonesian contractors it caused. And today I read, the collapse death toll rose to four.

I find the whole tragedy really sad. Really. Especially because I've had a lot of memories there.
Jaya supermarket has been quite a familiar place to me & my family ever since I was a kid. I guess you can say, I'm a regular there. That was like the chill spot of ALL chill spots before Midvalley & OU even existed. I went for tuition at that area & even worked there for 3months after SPM.

Yeah, the building was being demolished anyway, but for such catastrophe to occur. And knowing a small part of you has heart for it. It's just, dispriting.

I heard that the impact was so hard that, hawkers on the sides of the road had to run to save themselves. People seem to be questionning the company incharge's method for demolition.
I did find it kinda weird that they were doing everything from the inside, inspite of the instability, but what do i know about the processes anyway?

There was this part in the news :

National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the incident was a stark reminder on why safety at the workplace should not be taken for granted.

“It is sad that it takes another tragedy for people to realise what will happen if one takes safety at the workplace for granted.

I absolutely AGREE.
Condolences to the families who lost their loved one in the incident.
It's gonna take a lot of work to clean up & make sure the area is secure enough for the people around the area. Lets just pray that all is fine.

Blue Walls & Convos

So basically, the whole work fest was a one day thing.
The next day was like, waking up from a pretty awesome dream, & back to the dullness of life.
I don't mean to sound like some whiny kid, unappreciative of opportunities.
But seriously?

I went for lunch about 5mins early & finished in like 15minutes.
It's not like I had anyone to chit-chat with for the rest of the break.
I had like 45minutes to linger around before gluing my butt back in the cubicle with LOTS & LOTS to do :P
So, I headed straight to the bathroom of the department & made a video call to Tasya.
No joke, man. I did. I stood right next to the beautiful toilet bowl & dialed her number.
That was fun! :) Ohh & a lil photo shoot won't hurt, right? :P

I guess the product of one dull day followed by gazillions isn't that bad?
Blehh (-__-) That's how lifeless a Qill can be.

My video & photoshoot studio. LMAO.
My expression in the pic says it all ;)
And I'm starting to develop a nice bulging tummy, how fantastic :P

ANYWAY, I was suppose to be in Shah Alam today to support a bestee.
Tasya graduated from her Diploma in Banking. So happy for her!
Sucks that I wasn't able to be there. But CONGRATS babe :)

From Zetty's convo, haha :)

Ohh & if I'm not mistaken, Fareeza's (2nd from right) also graduating this week.
Diploma in Interrior Design :) Congrats too babe!
It would've been a blast to be able to see both of you on that stage.

Also, good luck to both you guys for the future climbs! (Miley Cyrus rip off, haha)
Aight then, some idiotta is nagging me for the comp. Till then <3

Reality Addiction & Work

My pada-Papapa is home! Haha, my Daday! Ohh how elated I am :)
Farah & I had to carry the HUGE mattress from my parents' room back to ours,
coz we camped out on their floor when my dad wasn't around.
I know it's just my parents' room, but it was so much fun :D

Farah & I spent the whole weekend watching The Hills Season 5 & The City
in my parents' room. We barely left the place. We had breakfast, lunch &
dinner plus side snacks there, ON OUR MATTRESS.
The only times we went out were to get MORE food.
And yes, my mom was furious. Hahaha :P

The Hills :)
From left : Heidi, Audrina, Lauren,
Brody, Lo, Justin Bobby & Stephanie.
Lauren is so puhh-retty!
And why does Justin Bobby have to be there? (-__-)

The City :)
New place. New people. New DRAMA.
From left : Olivia, Jay, Whitney, Erin & Adam.
I really think Olivia shouldn't be in the cast photo, she's barely in the series,
she's just like the supporting biatch of whatever drama that comes up.
Ohh wait, so that DOES make her a cast member. Ugh.
But I still think Allie (Adam's gf) would've been a better pick for the cast photo.

Hey there, my cup of mocha choco latte :D
LMAO. That's Jay, Whitney's rockstar boyfriend.

One of the reasons why I keep looking forward for the next
episodes throughout the season, aside from the fascinating look into
Whitney's job in the fashion world. Tamarama(Jay's band) ! :)

I'd like to have a cup of Jay now, PLEASE.

My mind is so in the Hills & City mode right now.
I can't stop thinking about it. Not that it has anything to do with my life :P
I just tend to be a little easy when it comes to allowing tv shows to suck me into the 'moment'.
Sorry if you don't watch The Hills or The City, or have no idea what I was talking about.
I just can't help it. It's muh thing. Just HAD to let it out :)

Alright now, enough about TV.
Someone in the department finally gave me work to do today!!

I was expecting another chair-warming-butt-burning day.
No way baby, I was workin' it! They gave me work, a LOT of work.
And I managed to complete em all real fast & successfully impressed my supervisor ;)

I did all that & a few more. From cover to content :)
I'm starting to really like this department (Core Transmission/Wireless- Trunk).
Most of the staff are young & easy-going & cute (muahaha).
And they actually bring me out to sites & make me WORK!!!
I feel like I fit well there. Sadly, it's only gonna be a week :'(
Then, I'm off to a new department where I'm alienated all over again.
Life BITES.

Nothing like a day without constantly checking your watch to wait for it to end.
Times flies by smoothly & it's ALL GOOD :)

And I'm done for today. Till then <3

Lenka & Droopy Eyes

I've been hearing this song for quite a bit on tv shows, but I never figured out the singer till a few weeks ago when I was going through the channels on tv & the video was playing on MTV (big suprise there :P) :)

The song is called The Show, sung by this girl name Lenka.
She sounds a little like Regina Spector, don't you think?
I like :D

ANYWAY, you know how I'm required to do a lot of reading at work?
And you know what involuntary reading can sometimes do to you right?
Your eyes get droopier by the second. I noticed that while I was reading yesterday.
So I switched to writing. Turns out, I kept blacking out in the process.
And when I really woke up, I noticed that I had scribbled on my notebook
(it was actually really hard to read, but this is what I could make out of it) :

I seriously need some sleep.
My eyes are the droopiest ever.
Please help me sleep by now.
Make a series merging lots & lots of magnetics lives.
OMG, totally following ...This I like...

WTH? Hahaha. Where in the world did 'magnetic lives' come from? LMAO :)

Skipping Life for Idol?

I don't know, I just feel like it's a MUST that I at least mention American Idol on my blog. LOL.You know I almost skipped work to watch the American Idol finale in the morning, haha :D I used to skip school for the finales back in those days :P

Can you believe it? Adam Lambert, the world's front-runner didn't win? Honestly, I was really suprised, coz eventhough I was so sick of hearing how much everyone is sooo in love with him, how every school girl HAS to have his photo on their blogs, etc. he did seem like the clear winner to me. Like Simon said, he's one of the most original contestants the show has ever had.

On the other hand, I can't deny the fact that Kris Allen deserves the win just as much. He may not have Adam's outstanding wide vocal range, but I couldn't recall a performance of his that ever bored me. They're both equally fertile in different ways ;)

Adam's more theatrical, and theatrical equals over the top dressing, over the top singing, in a good way of course ;) Kris is more laid back, even his music renditions are relaxing.

This year's finale, was so far the best of all. So exciting! :) My favourite performance would have to be the one with Adam & Kiss. Gene Simmons! Hahaha. It's so funny to see him all devilish with his band after watching his reality show. Aside from that, the others were all awesome.
*Actually, I'm starting to get lazy*

Congratulations Kris Allen!
He sounded better singing the finale song anyway :)

I still love Adam Lambert tho.

Aww, so sweet :)
After Ryan Seacrest announced the winner, Kris held back pretty well. But when his wife went up to hug him, he let it all go just like that. It was so cute. Ngeheheee :)

Bloggin' It Old Skool

*The whole combo of not having my own computer in the office & loads of free time has increased my brain-to-notebook activities. Here's yesterday's entry*

Bloggin' it Old Skool ;)

Is it really that difficult to smile? Is it that arduous to be nice to someone you just met?
With part of the industrial training being a platform for training my social skills, I definitely tried my hardest, made an effort to talk to people around me, ask questions, etc. But then again, God is creative. I guess once in a while we'll meet people who are just inimicable,
or whom possess that 'unique' attitude.

Somehow today, the guy who usually teaches me stuff had a seminar or something. So I didn't wanna just sit around doing nothing. I went around to find the office of my actual supervisor whom I never even got the chance to meet on my first day due to her cluttered schedule.

The first two girls I asked were really nice & all smiley, they thought I was a new staff, LOL. But that was pretty much acceptable. Checked the supervisor's office, but it was vacant. So later on, I tried again & approached another 3 office girls. Well, actually 2 women and a girl. The girl was congenial enough, she kept smiling at me, but the other two answered my questions in a way that made it seem like I smelled bad or something (-__-)

Unfortunately, my effort of making conversation was an epic failure. Tried it with the wrong click :( That one lady kept staring at me from head to toe. Who wouldn't start feeling concious if someone did that to you right? Things didn't work out, I just smiled & went back to my seat. It kinda left me feeling slightly low of myself. Hate those stares :( That's one out of the myriad things I'll have to get used to in order to survive my 10 weeks of LI. In fact, LIFE.

Anyway, the day I went out with Wanie, she said I looked so officy. I'm starting to think my choice of wardrobe DOES look little too much on the corporate side. LOL. Coz poeple in the department keep thinking I'm a new staff there. Even one of the girls, before I told her I was a student, there was this really weird vibe, she talked to me like I was one of the new managers there or something, hahahh :P

Seriously. Even yesterday, there was this one guy who helped me open the door (apparently the doors need staff identification for access) when I wanted head home. The usual situation would be that I say thanks, he smiles, then I head straight to the lift & wait. YESTERDAY, when I went out & said thanks, he followed me out (I guess he was on his way out too) and from behind me,

Me Him
You dari mana ni?
Haa? Ohh, UM :)

Okay, the tone he was at during that first question was NOT a staff-to-student tone. I could tell, coz believe me there IS a difference. Even the most humble staff around would still have that tone. He obviously thought I was new there or on a business meet.

Ehh, Ooohh you ni anak Kak Ainor yea?
Huh? I buat practical sini la.

Automatically he's tone changed. Including his format of questions. No 'I-You(s)' in sight. Suddenly, he was like tahun berapa? Study macam mane? LMAO :P
He was really cute. So I had no problem there ;)

*A few hours later*
I just got back from finally meeting my supervisor for this week. She's the sweetest lady ever, man. She's all english speaking, so I kinda got nervous, coz my english sucks, haha. All seemed to have went well. I hope I didn't look like an idiot infront of her. Heheee :) She's actually willing to brief me on stuff. So looking forward to that. *It never happened (-_-)*

Till then :)

Straight From the Desk

*I wrote this in my notebook while I was free in the office on Monday (18th May 2009).*

So today's my first day at the Broadband Wireless department. Wait, why does she keep talking about work? LOL. Sorry, but that's basically all I'll be doing for the next 2 months. It'd be hard NOT to talk about it. I guess it wouldn't hurt for some updates right? ;) Alright now, no more apologizing. If me, talking about work is a bore to you, I understand if you choose to stop reading :)

So I first walked in, and I was already asked to wait for like, 2 hours. I guess I'll have to get used to my Mondays being like this, since analogically I'll be like some social service kid jumping from foster home to foster home. You have to possess that ability to easily adapt to your new parents and THEIR ground rules, THEIR way of knowledge transmission, THEIR house environment, if the people around are friendly, or snobbish, or are there any hott dudes around. LOL. Jk :P

But yeah. I guess there's an advantage right there for me, due to the fact that my advisor assigned me to different departments every week. It's almost similar to having the opportunity of re-living a particular day continuously & strive to perfecting it.

My first day, and I was already sent on a trip to Banting. They brought me to one of the TNB 'pencawangans' to test the wireless signal for the area. It was one LONG trip to & back. I went with 4 other male Execs, and I tried my hardest not to sleep like a pig in the car, haha.

Ohh! And this week, I can't blog from work coz there's no extra
computer for me :( Hehee. I'll live.

Last weekend was a total fat camp, man. LMAO. Both my sisters Afi & Tiqah came back, and we did so much cooking which no doubt resulted in a LOT of eating. Haha, it was fun though. We made chocolate pudding, apple crumble pie with custard & mom made rendang.
It was like friggin raya, man. We watched 'The Uninvited' together.

It was pretty good. One of those psycho-related movies with an unsatisfying twist in the end. Hahaa. Hate those kinds. But the overall story was exciting. Emily Browning is really pretty :) She was actually one of the favourites to play Bella in Twilight. And somehow, I like watching every movie Arielle Kebbel is in :)

Emily Browning & Arielle Kebbel.

Rescued For Hor Fun

I actually wrote my supposedly yesterday's post in my notebook while I was in the office yesterday, but I'm too lazy to type today. So pictures will do?

The only time I got to be alone in the office, vanity took over ;P
In a way, you get to see a teeeeny bit of how my office looks like.
This week I'm actually sitting in a cubicle for three, and I'm in between two Execs of the dept :)
If you notice from my face, I was still on my alert mode, lol.

Today, Fareeza drove me out for lunch with Shikin!! :D

We had lunch at Old Town White Coffee since it was pretty nearby to TM.
That was actually my first time there. I've never really gotten the chance to try the food before.
Had Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun :) It was deeeee-licious :D

Shikin & Fareeza both had nasi lemak with fried chicken.

I was lucky to have invited them for lunch right when Shikin juz got back from Perak for her hols. She works in Taiping, Perak as a rockin' nurse ;) She's only gonna be here for 4 days, so eventhough we spent like, approximately an hour together, it was great :)

Thank you guys so much for making time to rescue me from another miserable day of eating alone. HAHA :P You both get an A for effort, man.

Extra Casual Fridays?

Am I the last human being on earth to know that Fridays are extra-casual?
That you are allowed to wear jeans?
That your top can be a collared tee instead of a shirt?
That you can wear sandles?
As in no leather, no heels, no blisters?

I was actually planning to wear baju kurung today.
Coz it's Friday.
It's Friday, not Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday, Sunday or Saturday, right?
Isn't Friday suppose to be baju kurung day?
Or at least more appropriate than extra-casual day?
Heeessh, well, there's no intentions of making a fuss.

It's just that I've always seen Friday as a respected day.
Coz like, even in school, we were encouraged to wear baju kurung on Fridays.
And it's just weird seeing people in the office dressing extra casual on this particular day.
Why can't extra-casual day be on a Thursday? or any other day?

I don't wear baju kurung in campus on Fridays, hehe.
But for an office environment where it's usually close to formal.
Extra-casual on Fridays?
Just too weird of a scene.

*Not even close to cavemen mentality, juz opinions based on compilation of lifetime culture knowledge & observation?*

Voice of Gold

If only all pcs in TM had webcams, haha :)
Only God knows what I'll be doing all on my own.
Thank God, today seemed to have went well.

I didn't have lunch alone :)
Met up with Wanie at MidV and had McD. Ngehehee.
She never ceases to entertain me with our catching-up sessions.
I was expecting her to come pick me up with her driver, coz usually she always does.
Sadly this time, the driver had other places to go.

I had no idea where to wait for cabs at the TM area.
I think I circled the place like about 3 times, before I finally got a cab.
(Sad to have verified that, that's how 'lost' I am when I'm alone, tsk tsk)
And gosh, my shoes are like eating up my toes.
It's like I've started a farm of blisters on my foot (-_-")

Right at this moment while I'm typing, there're like 2 guys in the office who keep repeating the word "Aiyaak".
Seriously, weird case, man.
One guy's like repeating it in a slow pace, "Aiyaaaaaaak, aiyaaaaaak".
And the other is repeating it really fast, "Aiyak! aiyak! aiyak!"
LMAO :D

One of the staff, Puan Faridah, gave me work today :)
Happiness, man.
I helped search for available ports on their server.
And managed to experience booking em for customers. WHoosh!
The AGM's secretary said that, of all interns I'm the one with the 'golden voice'.
LOL, in other words, I'm the one who doesn't speak much.
Sigh, what can I say?

It's not like I completely ignore people.
Or avoid them.
I still talk when I feel it's right.
I still smile when I pass em.
If I was over-humble, always trying to start conversing with people.
That'd be just, not me.
Just being real.

Having a voice of gold isn't as bad as it sounds ;)

Get It Yourself

I'm currently in the office.
In the TM Annexe Tower, where I'm 'supposedly' doing my industrial training course.
Day 3 today :)
As of now, human eyes can see that I'm obviously blogging.
And for the past 4 hours, I've been sitting here in my little exposed cubicle, just reading (or at least pretend that I'm reading) notes about the department I was assigned to, off of the computer they placed for me.
I did the EXACT same thing for the last two days that I was here.
However, I was pretty lucky yesterday, I got the opportunity to go to a site where all the network ports are, & they explained stuff about the highways of network connections & different types of equipments used.
Now, that was INTERESTING.
As expected, after lunch, I was back in my exposed cubicle absorbing more info on the department (-_-)
Oh, right now I'm in the Digital Data Network Department.
My supervisor assigned me to different departments every week.
I'm pretty sure that's a good thing for me, coz I'll finally get to learn the different fields of my course, & from there, decide what I really wanna major in :)

Why the name 'exposed' cubicle?
Coz they placed me in the cubicle right next to the entrance of the department.
And the pathway behind me, is the ONE & ONLY way in & out of the office.
I've got people passing behind me, every 5 minutes.
It's not really a bad thing, but I'm sure u get what I mean, right?
But it seems that I successfully managed to blog, so it's all good :)

So next week, I'll be reporting to the Broadband Wireless Department.
That should be something to look forward to.
Coz for some wird reason, the word 'wireless' makes me happy.
OMG, I really wanted to blog about my first day, but I was really exhausted when I got back.
The first day, was filled with madness.
Well, actually it was partially filled with madness.
But it produced an uncomfortable aftermath.
It may seem like, 'Anak manja' hardship thing, but man it was soul-sucking.

I'll get back to that in my next post.
I've gotta get back to my reading.
Despite the towering level of boredom, I still wanna learn.
If they won't give me much, I've gotta get it myself.
Till then <3

Woots, They're Back!

I juz found out that the National Service trainees are back from their 3month training. Haha, I seriously had no idea. Wow, I didn't even realize, 3 months had flew by just like that. Suprisingly, I am somewhat elated about it, hahaa. No idea why. I only know like, two people who went to serve.

My cousin Aryka.
I'm not sure which camp she was assigned to, lol.

My youtube friend, Hakim.
Who's camp was in Sungkai, Perak.

Ohh, I totally forgot, my bestee,Tasya's sister too, Najwa (sorry I couldn't find her pic!) who was in Port Dickson :) Good to have you guys back! I'm sure despite all the craziness, uncomfiness & being all homesick, they're all nostalgic right now. It's always like that. Like leaving school. You might have hated being there & all, but once you leave for good, you won't exactly miss it, but you just can't help, but recall your memories there. At least that's the nostalgic I know.

During my time, I never got called for NS. It was quite unfortunate to have to miss out on an experience like that, but honestly, I was relieved! LOL. On the bright side, I got to experience earning a paycheck on my own, & meeting a whole lot of people :)

Edited :
Apparently, they're only back for they're semester break, which is for 4 days. LOL, so 3 months has NOT passed by YET. Hakim is the only one back for good coz he'll be starting his form 6 soon. Information error!! Haha, my bad. I'm still glad they're back though ;D

Rojakness

Have I mentioned how enthusiastic I am to start blogging again? I just got off Hilman's blog, read his latest post, part of it was about not being able to express a whole load of ideas that have been kept for a long time, which I can definitely relate to.

During the exam period and few weeks before it, I had so much on my mind. You know how it is when you're studying, and your mind tends to sidetrack a lot.Sometimes, I come up with the weirdest things. And even when I'm on the road, I see stuff, I automatically gather thoughts about it & actually narrate em in my head. It's like scanning a piece of work on the scanner, editting it, & saving it into a folder. That folder was overloaded alright! However, I barely touched the keyboards to let em out, and everytime I did, I tend to filter out a LOT and end up posting what was on the surface of that sea of ideas. Sometimes, even the ones I've thought so long about, I somehow never even mention.

On Wednesday, when I got home after my last paper, I was like, "Whoot-whoot, I can finally start concentrating on updating that out-dated blog of mine". I ended up sitting infront of the laptop for so long, thinking, how do I start? what do I wanna talk about first? Farah was in the room with me. I turned to her and said, "Faraaaaaahhh I suddenly don't know what the crap to talk about!" I guess, when you wanna write about something, you have to be in the mood for it, and the mood I had to talk about the stuff I wanted to, was LONG GONE.

I'm over it now. Wanna start fresh :)

Now that I have more time on my hands, I'm hoping to make the best of it. I can finally finish up the books I bought ages ago (I have like, 3 more to go before I get new ones!), work on making more videos (my last video was 2 months ago, aaahh!), like maybe instead of blogging, I might juz vlog, learn new things (softwares, beatboxing? haha) and others which I prefer not to mention, heheee :P All in two months? Well, I take it as a platform to start things, doesn't mean I have to complete em all within the 2 months. I'll juz have to incorporate it with my everyday activities. I wanna see how my first week of work goes first, so I can plan out stuff. I hope things'll work out :)

Oh! And speaking of vlogging, remember my friend Emma from Scotland?, who's now one of the most well-known Twlighters on Youtube (terkejut, right? haha). She's got like, thousands of subscribers & she's even met the Twilight casts. Damn lucky, man. Anyway, recently she contacted me, and she wants to re-activate our Twicked Twilighters channel, to start vlogging together again since we're in the times of anticipation for the next movie, 'NewMoon' which will be coming out end of this year. November, I think? Ngehee, I don't know, I don't keep track anymore :P I have no idea what to vlog about when we start again, but I guess a litle research won't hurt :P

Gahh, I'm done for now. Hopefully I won't be a retard in my future posts.
Here's a video from Ellen's Show. My favourite bathroom concert episode! Haha, enjoy :)

Frankie It's Yet To be Over

It's been awhile, I know. So have some cupcakes & lets chill ;D
Ho-maa-gaawdd, its finally overr!
*drops down to kneels, both hands up high & wide open, embraces the moment*

At least for now it is (-_-")
I'm talking about my finals, if you still have no idea what the whole drama was about.
Lets not get into that, I'm just glad it's all over & done with!!

I'm just 4 days away from starting my Industrial training. WHoosh.
And I need office clothes! Lol, seriously I do. I don't even own a pair of slacks.
Not even covered heels. Gotta get em fast, or
I'll just have to resort to going to work in my converse. Huhuhu.

It's pretty nerve-wreckin', thinkin about how it's gonna be.
Especially knowing that the area where I have to walk to everyday
is known for its snatch-thief cases.

Note to self :
*Shop for office wear.
*Get over the paranoia.

Ohh! I watched Mary Shelley's Frankenstein the other day.
Not the original version, the slightly newer one starring
Helena Carter(Sweeny Todd, Merlin, love her!) & Robert DeNiro.
Pretty wicked ;)
