Daanng, I was actually really excited about it. Nervous? Always.
But somehow, behind all that nervousness, I'm usually secretly excited
(apparently, it ain't a secret no more, lol).

Today, I kinda feel a lil relieved coz all my assignments that were dued after the CNY hols, were finallycompleted and submitted. Phewhh!
Ohh! And I had my lab today, and tell you whaaaat. For the first time EVER in my lab experience in campus, I got a demonstrator who totally rocked my socks! Her name's Prem, I think she's a masters student, and gosh, she's the bubbliest senior I've ever met! I'd like to emphasize, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, a demo whom when she talks, every single word that comes out from her mouth is no doubt understandable. Her explanations were all crystal CLEAR! Ira, Al Ain (my lab partners), and I got all psyched about doing the experiment. The way Prem conveyed her message, somehow gave me that spark of interest I needed towards the course I'm doing.
As I see it, there are 2 groups of people in universities. They are the passionate ones, & the 'bantai' ones. The passionate ones are people who chose their course based on true interest, or long time goal in life, they know that course is 'the one' they want, 'the one' for them, & they love everything about it. Juz like people, who juz know it when he/she meets 'the one' (muahaha). On the other hand, the 'bantai' ones are people who chose their course based on the the saying 'bantai je la'. NOT that they have no sense of direction in life, NOT that they don't know how to manage their future, etc. NO negativity intended here!
Some of the 'bantai' ones could be people who juz haven't reached that point where they know, exactly what they wanna do in life. So, they juz go with the flow.
"I'm already in the physical stream, what should I take then? I'm thinking, engineering. It pays good anyway right?"
Just a few examples of what they're usually thinking. This is based on what I've heard from some of the people I've talked to. So yeah, some people just take time to discover themselves. A guest on one of the Oprah episodes once said, "20's is usually the time for self discovery & learning what you want in life, but so what, there are people in their 40's, and still learning". So ITS NEVER TOO LATE =)
In my case, I'm a 'bantai' person. LOL!
I'm the type who's okay with everything, when it comes to experiences. Some things, I may not like, but I'll usually eventually learn to like it. For example, when I go out with my friends, and they ask me where should we eat. I'll always say, "I don't mind, where do u wanna eat?". I try to avoid suggesting places we've been to before, coz I wanna try new ones. Unless, I found out or heard about a new place, THEN I'd suggest it.
Or in other cases, if I meet someone who's really annoying & I'll hate her like hell for the first few meets. The next week, we'll be chit-chatting like we've known each other for years. Haha. Talking about this, suddenly reminded me of when I was in matrics, and my english lecturer asked me, "What do you tell a friend who's sad about something?". Out of the blue, I said "Look on the brightside". Haha, lame answer, but I guess over the years, it kinda grew on me.
So same goes to how I chose the course I'm doing now. I thought Telecommunications sounded interesting & different. I never did any research on it or whatsoever. I wouldn't say it was a bad choice, coz I never regretted it. Its like an arranged marriage gone great! (what the heck?! haha).
Therefore, after the LONG tale, I think the engineering faculty seriously needs more people like Prem!! Btw, she wouldn't stop staring at my leather strap while she was explaining, hahahaha. So, so flattering? Wakaka. Ohh! Ohh! And today,I don't know why, I'm like, all hyped up, happiness is in the air. For no reason. NO reason at all. Again, for the first time in campus, I laughed like crazy with my friends in the lab just now. We were waiting for the lab assistant to sign our experiment results, and so, Ain, Ira and I were chillin' at the sides and we were talking about movies. Ain was so excited about the movie she wanted to watch.
With all the confidence in the world & high pitch in her voice, Ain said, "Underwaterworld!" (When she actually meant to say Underworld).
Ira & I looked at each other in confusion, saying "Underwaterworld??"
Ahh well, despite the nutty-ness, it felt great! =)
I haven't laughed that much since highschool. Back then, I used to laugh like that, almost everyday. Haha. And my friends knew me for it. The laughing.
So, I did go for the movie marathon with Sarah last week. We watched Underworld & Inkheart. Both great movies (I would do a review on it, but time is of the essence at the moment). But I prefer Underworld over Inkheart though. Go Lycans!! I know its been out for quite some time, but if you haven't seen it, or have no idea what's it like, check out the trailers :
I really feel like writing more, but I've got stuff to do.
So, till then =D
