Finding Forrester

Two posts in a day, say what? HAHA.
After finishing the previous post, I thought I was gonna head to the books & study for tomorrow's test. Turns out, I had to help my mum with the cooking. Nothing unusual, just something that comes naturally when you're living at home & not in a hostel or a rented house,or anything similar to it. I didn't really cook though, I just helped taste the food (since my mom's fasting) & fried the chicken.

Watched TV while having my breakfast, and ended up glued to the couch for the next 3 hours watching this really interesting film called 'Finding Forrester'. Basically, it's about this African-American kid who's an aspiring writer, befriends this old man who's pretty much a loner who secludes himself from the outside world. He turns out to be a one time pullitzer prize winner. The whole film goes on about how the kid was received into a totally different society, different world. A cross-over from the Bronx to an upper highclass school, during the times when people who didn't know,or couldn't accept something totally different, still exists. The time when it was unusual & suprising when an African-American knows so much about writing, and everything about it.

Ahh well, when you watch it you'll know what I mean. I had this really random thought, about people not being able to accept something that's beyond what they believe. Coz a lot of movies I've seen are about things that are believed to be 'the impossible' proven to be possible. Confused much? LOL.

What I mean is, what if everything we know, what's impossible and what's not, is all based on JUST beliefs? Like in the movie Finding Forrester, the kid's teacher couldn't accept that he was talented in writing & that he knew a lot about the histories of literature, etc. I assume that he based all that on his belief that literature was started by whoever, and didn't involve Africans? So, instead of accepting the kid's talent, he finds other reasons like, cheating.

This may sound dumb & all, but it's just a thought. A lot of people say that being gay or sexual intercourse between similar sexes is against human nature. The question is, what is human nature? Why, because only sexual intercourse between the opposite sex can produce humans? Thus, the conclusion that similar intercourse is not allowed? Am I making any sense? Well, it's JUST A THOUGHT.

MOVING ON.

I got a message on youtube today, which totally made my day =D

The simplest things can actually make a difference for some people =)
It's not always that I get something like that. I'm happy someone actually thinks that.

I also forgot to mention, I finally went to watch Kami The Movie with Wanie last week. Sadly,Abu died & I cried =P

Okay now, that's it for today. I shall end it with some quotes from Finding Forrester. Enjoy =)

Forrester: Bolt the door, if you're coming in.

Jamal: Women will sleep
with you if you write a book?
Forrester: Women will sleep with you if you
write a bad book.

Forrester: What you write in this apartment stays in
this apartment.

Forrester: The key to a woman's heart is an unexpected
gift at an unexpected time.

Forrester: You're the man now, dog!

Forrester: Punch the keys, for God's sake!

Jamal: I came back to
see, if you could help me out with my writing.
Forrester: How about 5,000
words on why you should stay the fuck out of my house!

Forrester: In
some cultures it's good luck to be wearing something inside-out.
Jamal: And
you believe that?
Forrester: No, but it's like praying: what do you risk?

Jamal: Don't forget to write.

Forrester: No thinking - that
comes later. You must write your first draft with your heart. You rewrite with
your head. The first key to writing is... to write, not to think!

Jamal:
"The rest of those who have gone before us cannot steady the unrest of those to
follow." You wrote that in your book.

Tako Tao Loves Yan

Yesterday was my 5th day for puasa 6, and I decided to fast the 6th day during deepavali, that's okay right? Haha, well I would've fasted today, but I realized that I can be quite a douche bag when it comes to studying with no food. I know, that's like, the crappiest excuse EVERRR, but it does make a difference for me. My test is tomorrow anyway, so I guess there's no harm in postponing it for a few days. As long as I manage to complete it before Syawal ends =D

SO! For buka last night, I took the opportunity of letting Farah, Reda & my mom try my current favourite food, TAKO TAOS!! Weeeeee =) Aaaahh, they make me happy =D HAHA.

I'm not sure excatly, what they're made of. I'm assuming they use some kinda special Japanese, Korean flour? to make the balls. But, it's got a lot of vege in it, depending on the people who make em. Coz, I noticed that unlike in One Utama, the Take Tao people in Midvalley put less vege in their takos. More vege = more YUM!

You can choose your tako filling. You have an option of prawns, octopus, unagi (the belut fish) & chicken ham. I personally like, prawns & octopus =) That's coz I haven't tried the rest yet, haha. Will do, soon. Wanna join? =P

The balls are served with fish flakes(I think), seaweed flakes, with mayo and some kinda sauce which taste soooo good.

I have a feeling a lot you have tried it before. But if you haven't, you definitely SHOULD! If you're a fan of Japanese, Korean food (I know I am!), this'll will upgrade your love for the food, ehee =) You can usually find the Tako stall in Jusco cafes, the section where they have the bakery & other cooked food.

I'm so yummi-fied by the takos, I kept stealing em from Farah & Reda yesterday, and ended up having more than what we were suppose to have. Soon, I'll be looking just like a tako. Tako much? =P

ANYWAY, last SUnday, I travelled all the way to Yan's house in Hulu Langat for her raya open house. Yan's a REALLY good friend of mine during my matriculation days. She's someone I can definitely get along with (that's kinda rare for me) and awfully miss not having around. That's why it was no big deal for me to attend, despite the distance. Initially, I was gonna go there by hopping on public transports with my other friend Ikhlas, coz we didn't want my mom to go through the trouble of going back & forth & paying twice the toll price. I asked like, a gazillion people, and only a few actually knew how to get there. Turns out, getting there involved long bus rides. Haha, I'm fine with LRTs & trains. But buses? Nooooo way. Call me spoilt, but yes, I DO NOT like buses.

AND SO, my mom sent us. Heheeee =) It wasn't so hard to get there, so, no stress was involved. Meeting up with Yan and Ikhlas after what, 3 years? was worth the travel, awesomeness. I haven't got our pic from Yan yet, but I'll add it here soon.

Aight then, back to the books! Ciao & Luvs =D

Massive Update!

It's Thursday night, and that means...The weekend is here!! Woot woot!! No class on Friday, thus, a mini break for myself (well, not exactly, since I'll be going out anyway). But yeahh, mental break, wee=)

I am SOO relieved that my project management project is finally over & done with. Phewh! It was definitely a tough one. Especially because Pia & I chose to manage a HUGE project; an Underwater Restaurant. At the beginning, it was supposed to be an Underwater Resort, but that would've been catastrophic for us! The idea for the underwater restaurant was actually inspired by the Redsea Star Underwater Restaurant in Israel.

The view from the outside. It's got 3 levels, 2 levels above the sea, and the restaurant level underwater.

Even the interior's amazing. Aquatic theme. If you notice the awesome scenery thru the windows.

I'd definitely want to dine in a place like this one day.

Pretty interesting huh? I'd have to say, Pia & I make a good team =) We think alike, just that she's a lil more agressive compared to myself. I tend to be a lil bit of a softy sometimes. It was one of the most stressed out situations we've been thru together. Because our project was different from others & everyone else had examples similar to theirs, whereas ours was just too different to even refer to the examples. So, we had A LOT of work to do on our own.

However, we managed to have fun in the process! We stayed up together, took a few trips to Midvalley (good stress relief), tried new food together, borong Big Apple together & even had a short Tako Tao picnic near the big drain behind Midvalley 5 minutes before heading to our Project Management class (to submit the project). Haha.

Ahhh fun times. The beauty of peer chemistry =)

ANYWAY, my brother just got discharged from the hospital yesterday. He was admitted for Denggi. Seems that the denggi season has started again. It's like, everyone's getting it. My mom's friend's son too, even when I walked into a 7-Eleven store, I heard someone talking on the phone about it. Hooisshh! Well, I'm glad my bro's fine now. He looked pretty bad before this, his eyes were all swollen & red, and his scalp was really sensitive, caused him to have a lot of dandruff. It was pretty bad, thankfully, not anymore =D

So, I haven't mentioned anything about raya yet. Lol, well, suprisingly this year, my family decided to have an open house. Usually we just receive & entertain whoever comes. This time, nothing was planned, it was all impromptu & pretty early for a lot of people. Thus, some of my friends couldn't make it =( On the other hand, my siblings' friends were able to, and the turn up was big enough to excite the raya feel. Weee =)

About 7 of my friends made it, and that was good enough for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH for coming guys =)

Afiq, Tasya, Fadi, Shah, Fareeza & Shikin. You guys ROCK!

Even my youtube friend Aiman managed to come! Whoots! We were planning to make a collab video together, unfortunately we were out of ideas, so instead, we decided, pictures would be okay too =)

Ohh, and omg, this year, after sooo many years, comes a suprising discovery! I just found out that the lecturer who was my tutor for ODE, is actually my uncle!! My family and I were on our way to my grand uncle's place in Linggi, and I see this really familiar guy opening the gate for us and

I was like, "Omg Ma, who's THAT GUY?!"
My dad was like, "Oii, don't you know your own uncle? He's my cousin la."
And I was like, "What the heck? That's my lecturer! Why's he opening that gate for us?!"

The whole time, I actually stressed out about meeting him face to face (I know, silly Qila), and I
started imagining all the things he was gonna ask me like, MY ODE RESULTS. No waaaaaaaay.
Fortunately for me, we didn't meet, coz the reason he was opening the gate was coz he was already leaving. Phewh! I know I sound mean, but it's for my own good, hehhs =P

Oh yes, I forgot to post my Raya video here. This was kinda like a Raya task for all the Malaysian youtubers. Mine was submitted a lil late, I actually recorded it around 2am, so that explains the dark parts in the vid. Nothing much though, it didn't really turn out the way I planned it, but here you go, just a lil sumthin2 for raya =)

I'm taking a break from youtube for a while. I've got plenty of studying to do. Really hope I make it through this semester. Pray fer me =) I've still got a couple of lab reports to complete, and one last assignment to submit, and it's all study, study, fun, and study!

Soo, did I forget anything? Ohh! Fareez tagged me.

Rules of the tag:-

1.Link to your tagger and post these rules in your blog.
2.Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3.Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4.Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

More random facts? Ughh. Let's see..

Fact
1. I never leave home without a leather strap on my left wrist.

2. I never leave home without my watch. Eventhough, it's battery's dead. Seriously. Ask
my friends. Some people actually get weirded out by me when I ask for the time, while
wearing a watch.

3. I know I've mentioned this in my 5 facts video, but I have to say it again. I have a bad
habit of skin peeling. Occassionally, I peel my lips. And when I'm nervous, I peel my
thumb. I've even had bloody experiences during a few of my nerve wrecking exams.
Uhh-huh.

4. I like experimenting haircuts on myself and people who dare to take the risk of having
me handle the scissors. Sometimes when I get bored, and I notice my hair's grown, I'd
start snipping here & there. I've had a few bad experiments on my pwn hair, but only
the people at home get to laugh at me for it ;) But I've managed to come out with a few
successful hairdos. I'm happy about that =)

5. I get a lil concious about wearing skinny jeans, since my legs are not skinny AT ALL.
But, I wear em anyway. Hahaha. I love me, for doing so =)

6. It's almost midnight now, and I haven't even bathed =P

7. Somehow everytime I know I've got a few extra ringgits in the bank, I'd wanna spend it
on someone, eventhough I've just known them for a short time. Huhoo!

That's it Fareez! Whooshh! Penat! Hahaha. So the people I tag are :

Fareeza
Aimee
Sallikin
Farah
Sandy
Ikmal

Goshh, I don't know who else. Ahh well, whatever it is, have fun with it =)
One last thing, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AFI & FARAH! I LOVE YOU GUYS!
